Welcome Welcome to MTBI 2009 – An International Conference on Mild Traumatic Brain Injury.
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to MTBI 2009 in scenic Vancouver, British Columbia. The conference will take place at Vancouver’s Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, August 12 – 15, 2009. We are gathering to explore Mild Traumatic Brain Injury, Concussion, and Post-Concussion Syndrome during this conference, as these topics have not only just recently been acknowledged as significant problems, and but these topics bring considerable controversy in the medical, legal, and general health care community as to the nature, extent, and management of these disorders. We will also be spending time on such injuries, often with PTSD, occurring in combat situation as it afflicts many of our returning troops. MTBI 2009 will assemble experts from a multiplicity of specialties working with brain injury, welcoming a diverse group of experts to collaborate in synthesizing new knowledge. We look forward to bringing together and meeting delegates from around the world, working in areas ranging from the medical and legal implications of MTBI to those working mental health/ addiction issues and representatives from programs that provide acute, chronic, rehabilitation and recovery services recovery.
